Choose where your organization's data is stored
Select the d5s region for an organization when you create it, and learn which data stays in that region.
Each d5s organization stores its data in one region. You choose the region when you create the organization. The European Union region is hosted in Frankfurt. For an overview of d5s security, see Security.
Choose the region
The European Union is the only publicly available region. app.d5s.tech opens its sign-in or sign-up flow directly. d5s Desktop also opens the European Union region.
When you create a team organization, the first step of the dialog is Choose a region. Select the region, then Continue in and the region name. The team and its workspaces stay in the region where you create them.
What stays in the region
The selected region governs where d5s stores organization data. An organization and every workspace it owns stay in that region.
Some services can process data outside the region:
- Authentication, payment processing, and transactional email.
- Model providers. Selecting EU does not promise EU-only model inference.
- Limited error reporting and other named subprocessors.
- Connectors that you choose. They send data to their external providers.
Review the Privacy Notice and the subprocessor list for the complete processing boundary.
Change the region
You cannot move an existing organization to a different region. To work in a different region, create an organization there. One account can use organizations in more than one region.
Other regions in the organization menu links to the other regional apps. It does not show if you have data there. Each region needs a separate sign-in. Your session and credentials do not move between regions.
Confirm commitments for your organization
Confirm the providers, subprocessors, transfer terms, and data location commitments in your customer agreement and the Data Processing Addendum before you make a residency claim. For model retention rules, see Security and trust.
If something goes wrong
A workspace link opens in the wrong region: select the region of that workspace and sign in again.
